Today, we’re proud to announce that Dia&Co Founder Nadia Boujarwah is joining Founder Collective as a Founder Partner.

The Founder Partner program at FC has been an important part of the fund since our inception in 2009. It allows us to partner with some of the best entrepreneurs in our network, that are also active angel investors. The Founder Partner program is mutually beneficial, whereby we help our Founder Partners with greater capital and collaboration so they can focus on their day job while investing and helping the next generation of entrepreneurs, as an extracurricular, pay-it-forward activity. We’re thrilled to have Nadia join this group which also includes SeatGeek CEO Jack Groetzinger, Tamr CEO Andy Palmer, Firebase founder James Tamplin, Bloomreach CEO Raj De Datta, and serial entrepreneur Zach Klein.

I’ve had the great pleasure to watch firsthand Dia&Co, an emerging leader in plus-size fashion, transform from a small upstart in Brooklyn to partnerships with celebrities like Rebel Wilson and Venus Williams, into a large enterprise with multiple offices and an exec team recruited from ecommerce giants like Amazon. Dia is a company on the move and stories in the New York Times, Fortune, and TechCrunch detail why. More than Dia&Co’s success I’ve learned a lot from watching how Nadia has built her team, her product and the company as a whole around her vision and passion.

There are many insights that I’ve learned from Nadia but here are a few that make me confident that she’ll be a major asset to our team as an investor and mentor to founders:

Nadia can speak in EQ and IQ. She has an analytical mind and can grock a complex P&L and identify the key drivers, risks, and opportunities. At the same time, she’s warm and engaging and has enormous empathy for her staff and her customers.

Nadia has shown me that innovation doesn’t stop at the first few million in sales. She’s constantly thinking about product extensions, onboarding and workflow improvements, and marketing approaches. She’s consistently learning and taking in input in order to steer the Dia ship as the company grows and evolves.

Last, Nadia has a customer centricity that I have rarely seen, down to her meticulous use of language, and has a keen sense of what her customers want and need from Dia&Co. The company is more than an e-tailer, it’s truly a partner and friend.

We’re so excited to have Nadia collaborate with us. While she’s primarily focused on building Dia into a massive success, we’re excited to add her expertise in e-commerce and her passion for building great tech companies in New York City. Welcome, Nadia!
